We are the children...

While this picture may look like we recorded a Christmas single to raise money for a good cause this Monday, we actually had a lot of fun recording some temporary scratch voice acting at Bob Kommer for the feature film we're currently setting up.

il Luster & Anikey in the press
This weeks VPRO TV guide brings an interview (in Dutch of course) with our producer Michiel Snijders from il Luster with some nice pictures and info on films produced by il Luster, including Paul and the Dragon. Then there's also a nice small article about Anikey in business magazine ZJournaal:

We had a great screening and a nice short Q&A of Paul and the Dragon at Cinekid. Afterwards we got a nice Cinekid Certificate and a pile of chocolate.

Yesterday we wrapped up the final audio mix for Little Quentin at Bob Kommer Studios. Now it's ready to go on film! Couple of weeks ago we already did a little test at Cineco, it looked great and so we got our very first filmroll! Bonus: the final final poster of the film:

'Paul & the Dragon' wins Divercine!
Last week Paul & the Dragon won the price for 'Best Animated Film' in Montevideo, Uruguay, at the the 18th International Uruguayan Film Festival for Children and Teen-agers, DIVERCINE. The film also got a Special Mention on the festival. Excellent!

This is what the jury had to say about it:
"Por el excelente guión que, sin diálogos, logra transmitir lúdicamente la visión y las emociones de un niño ante el diagnóstico de cáncer en su cuerpo. Logra encontrar humor donde habitualmente sólo hay drama y logra encontrar vida donde se cree que solo hay muerte"Roughly translated by Google:
"Its excellent script, without any dialogue, manages to convey the vision and playful emotions of a child before the diagnosis of cancer in his body. It finds humor where there is usually only tragedy and finds life where it is believed that there is only death"

This week we got the most excellent news that the National Film Fund has granted us financial support for the pre-production of our new animated shortfilm'Fallin' Floyd'.
This means after wrapping up 'Little Quentin' this summer, we can start the pre-production of two new film projects: a short and a feature film. Excellent.
